We have an external chimney so flat wall inside, we just painted using masking tape to create a feature - we get lots of comments on how nice it looks. It is clearly the feature, not the tv. Maybe add a bookcase on one side? Re fire, I would just replace the actual surround with something new and modern, we saw lots of nice stone options when we were looking, then reinstate open fire (not a clue how easy/ costly this is!)

I’m a little unsure what you mean by cloakroom as you alao mention a mirror? I assume you mean a coat cupboard and not downstairs loo? You also mentioned a hidden office but also a live edge corner desk. i’ve tried incorporating some of what you asked for. Realistically given the space I’m not sure shelves will fit around the tv. i think the desk would have to go in front of the window. The sofa I’d say would be a max of 1800mm pushed nearly against the wall one side (the floor lamp was meant to be behind it!)
