Carpet advice needed please!
Comments (2)I agree. A close match to the sofa or very slightly darker to ground it, and you'll have a neutral starting point for many years to come. Not so sure about adding a rug on top of carpet; perhaps you could do something creative with a coffee table that uses the colours from the curtains, and obviously cushions and throws too?...See MoreLoopy carpets - advice please!
Comments (0)Hello. I’m looking for some advice on looped carpets, which I ordered for my house, 100 sq/m in total. Two of the five carpets cuts had faults and were unusable. There was a five week wait for the independent carpet assessor visit but could not repair them. Two replacement pieces were ordered and these were even more heavily faulted. The manufacturer now requests that I wait a further month for even more replacement carpet. This installation has taken two and a half months so far and my whole house has been upside down throughout! Please let me know if looped carpets are always this vulnerable to manufacturing faults. The carpet is made by Alternative Flooring and retails at £54.95 sq/m....See Morecarpet runner (advice on fitting)
Comments (7)Thanks guys, it is an old house and the little landing isn’t square I don’t think. The weave maybe makes it look worse in real life I think as it has a definite line in the weave. Paid nearly £500 for the fitting so just wanted to make sure they had just done the best job they could. When the estimator came out with his fancy measuring gadgets he didn’t say anything about the stairs being wonky and we didn’t think the stripe would be so obvious from the sample we had. It’s the type of thing you maybe only notice if it catches your eye. That particular piece of carpet has been cut slightly off on the left (looking at it straight on) which probably doesn’t help). Do you think we should just let it go?...See Morecoordinating landing and stairs carpet advice please!!!
Comments (8)Thanks so much everyone for your advice I really appreciate your replies. T. Willow I love that herringbone pattern too I love herringbone. I should probably have said we have 4 children under 7 so if we are going with wool needs to be practical as poss to hide stains which we thought stripe might manage. Daisy do you mind me asking what colour paint you have on the walls with this carpet? We have Dimity in master and it’s far too brown. Thanks. Thanks Angie good to know it can look really good, maybe I just need to be bit brave and go for it! Thanks everyone x...See More- 3 years ago
