I've been tempted by that wallpaper, too. It's bold and dramatic and could look wonderful. I reckon it would work with a scandi look loo - with coffee coloured shelves perhaps? And accessories that tie in with it. I'd be tempted not to do the rest white - what about the dark blue or even the coffee or darker coffee colour? Perhaps you aren't used to using colour and are a bit worried about using too much? The days of doing one feature wall are long gone for many and experimenting with the loo gives you the chance to try it out without the risk. Regardless, this wallpaper's got masses of drama. Go for it!

It may be worth speaking to the electrician if you're not as keen on swagging. I know they can run a "pipe" through the ceiling void with the cabling in to put extra outlets and then just drill a hole from underneath the ceiling for the light but that is dependant on the joist direction etc though. That may not be feasible for what you want to do but may be worth asking the question anyway! If not, choose hooks that blend in with the ceiling? It will be easier to assess position this way too as you can just get the electrician to hold each one up for assessment before fixing! A general rule is that lights should be 1/2 - 2/3 of the tables width and normally hung 30-36 inches above the table. Given the double height I'd probably just start the lowest pendant c40-46 inches but I'm not sure on your total ceiling height and even though it's a feature you want to make sure the table is sufficiently lit! It's probably worth drawing it out on paper

Hi! Some tips to not make it look like a "waiting room" is to make it very cosy and "alive". I like the dining table in the corner, but it looks a bit empty maybe. What about adding a bench in the corner? You can make a bench super easily with the IKEA Besta units that you just fix together. It is super cheap too, as I know you are renting the house. And then some art on the wall maybe with a nice ceiling light? In the other corner, I would go for two arm chairs for example? This space could be your "morning coffee/reading corner". Again, to make it not look like a "waiting room", I would add a tripod lamp for example, a big round rug, some plants, and maybe a small book shelf. I suppose it depends how much you love that orange chair. Personally, I’d change the rug if it’s as small as it seems. A much larger rug would bring the space together; at present the rug literally cuts the space in two, making it seem much narrower than I think it really is. In that case you could choose a rug that goes with the orange chair—I see there’s a plate with similar tones above the chair, so it seems that you like that colour already. As for adding colour etc to walls, one way could be to get small prints etc, but put them in a much larger frame. Then you use a mounting in a rich accent colour—that burnt orange, for example. That would give you the shot of colour without actually needing to paint your light walls, and of course you could change it easily.
