Help!! Colour scheme advice - Teal Sofa
Hi Everybody,
I’m after some help/advice for my living room/dining room.
I picked a lovely grey flooring for my new home & wanted a sofa to compliment it. I picked a teal sofa. It has now arrived,but now I really dont know what colour wallpaper to chose for my white walls & what colour dining table & chairs to go with it!
It‘s driving me crazy do any help would be greatly sppreciated! I’ve attattached some photos to help!

Comments (29)keep the frieze white, I know that it might be tempting to paint it to go, but as it is likely an original feature, and was originaly white, plaster friezes should just stay white. not briliant white dulux, like an art gallery but a lovely natural white, like shirting from the little greene paint co. UNless you are painting them with golds etc in some palace I fell they always look much better white. and try not to get too much contrast in your paints, look for a pinky greys , lilac shadow from sanderson paints, mirage from the little green paint company , and fig greyt from zoffany are all examples of greys that hit a pinky tone, but GET SAMPLES they are invaluable for the seeing the nuances of shade and sublteties that only the light in your room will pick up. i can send you paint charts if ytou need them karly...See MoreColour scheme advice for open plan area
Comments (26)Hi, this is going to be a great space! I really like your theme of brown/mustard/khaki, it's going to be so warm and contemporary. What about painting the wall with the two windows in your living space a rich ochre/mustard and repeating it on the opposite wall. There isn't a great expanse here as you have the walkway to the kitchen but it will reflect beautifully. With those big glass doors and roof light you can afford to go darker. The current mustard wall in the dining area, you could go for a fun, bold wallpaper with complimentary colours. It'll all tie in effectively but you'll have defined areas. Keep the remaining walls as they are and add accessories to bring the whole extension together. Comments (27)Ah, can't be sure, but it looks a lot like F&B Pitch Blue. Keep in mind that colours that you see online will most probably look very different in your home, because the light will be different. Also, photos are almost always manipulated, and all screens will give a slightly different image, so even if they mention which paint they've used, it might look different in real life. Best thing is to try a couple of colours out in your room, not smaller than A4 size really, to get a good idea of how it will look. Good luck...See More- 3 years ago
We’ve got similar colour tiles in our bathroom with grey rubber on the floor and we’ve gone for a lighter shade of green on the walls - we used Valspar paint, shade Silent Witness.
PRO3 years agoHi. At first it´s very important what color and print do you prefer or dislike, it would be better to take small interview at firts, but I can offer you 2 versions. Your sofa color is great, it´s massive and cold color, so it
will be better to try warm colors, orange, pink. If you choose orange you can add the same color pillows and vase , or you can use pink color in the room and this nice print only one wall (sofa back) or in the middle of this wall. It might be worth looking at a website such as Jane Clayton for wall paper options as you can filter by colour too (https://www.janeclayton.co.uk/wallpaper/?filters[colour][]=9584). I would suggest you go for something that sits well with the teals and greys but is not too cold. Look for warmer greys for the walls and background of the wallpaper perhaps with some teal and a secondary colour pop (maybe a soft pink or ochre yellow?) which will help break the two tone only feel.
