I never thought about mirrors as plinths, sounds cool. However I'll stick to what Ive got... no plinths, lit with LED's, and run a feather duster under it once a month... my particular kitchen gives me peace of mind knowing there is good air flow and I spot leaks immediately. Mirror acrylic is available in big sheets, and can be cut with a jigsaw, and I suppose the clips to attach them to the legs can be glued on. If you do go this route, I warn you must get the correct glue for the mirror acryllic backing, having personal experience of using the wrong stuff, it looked fine for months, then reacted badly with the mirror backing and destroyed my project... I even wrote to the glue company about it (think was Unibond), but they sent me a tube of the right stuff free of charge so can go see what it is if you need. Would love to see photos if you get these done.

ok so I'm still al little confused but almost decided (mainly cos i can't take this strange indecision anymore!) So 3 tall integrated of/larger fridge & pull out larder units on back wall (in photo) and l shape base units only in Slipper Satin. Worktop in snowy ibiza as it has a taupe tinge to it so works well with Slipper Satin but lighten the room too and wimborne white (or possibly Valspar Fluffy Robe) for the walls and open shelves. I still want my champagne bronze tap and am hoping it will go but it's the only thing I'm not certain on now and the only thing i'm dead set on having! Off to look at Kahrs flooring samples today.

Decent laminate worktop suppliers that I'd recommend are Axiom, Egger, Prima, Odyssey and Omega. Between the 5 of them they sometimes have similar designs so look at each one to see what lengths they offer as some are 3 metres, some 3.6 and some 4 metres. You need to work out which is cost effective to avoid waste. Google the images. There are some great choices and most of them will post you a sample free of charge.

Hi Ellie, we’re lacking furniture right now!! The plan is to have a new bigger sofa, a tv and the boys PS4 down here but we have a separate living room at the front too. The living area bit is a bit dark though as no windows but two bifolds in kitchen diner so it is sunny!
