I would suggest handing the FF the other way - aesthetically looks better paired with the pantry that way - and allows you to open both to see what needs to be restocked or to decide what to cook etc. Also for aesthetics, have the drawers either side of cooker both three drawers and the odd one other side of pillar as a two.

So the bit in the light blue circle looks like a cupboard, perhaps with a stacked wachine machine/tumble dryer in it? (good idea if so). But do you mean just past that cupboard, ie along the left hand wall as you come into the kitchen? If so then yes you absolutely could put the fridge there, it’s just going to be a bit bulky as will stick out further than normal units, and you may feel it’s in the way a lot as that’s your main way in and out of the kitchen. Also it wouldn‘t be able to go right in the corner, it would need a slim unit to the left of it so you can open it fully. So that would push it further towards the island and again that means it’s blocking the main walkway more. You could however push the island further towards the garden than shown in the plan, which would mean you have more space in that entrance area, and then it is more feasible to have the fridge along that left hand wall, as people can get past. Anyway, there are certainly options, it’s just worth planning the kitchen layout and checking it all works ergonomically before you commit to the window! As regards kitchen units under side return: you can have wall units or tall units under a side return, it depends how you make the roof. It’s true though that most people prefer to leave that wall clear of wall/tall units, usually that’s where a dining table or sofa goes. Here are some pictures of side returns with tall or wall units under. The first one looks the neatest as they have the roof part glass part solid and have tucked the units under the solid bit, but I suspect they have an unusually wide side return:

Some ideas: 1. Kitchen layout quite similar to what's already there. Island about 306cm long, as 320 is the max length in most quartz brands. Coffee corner next to stairs, sink optional (because plumbing..). Also made some changes in the utility, created a separate shower room and shared wc. Tall larder units, extra freezer, imagine it's all there. And of course some tall units and a bench for coats and boots at the rear entrance, opposite a laundry. 2. Peninsula kitchen sideways, which allows a very large dining table (took this one as an example). Had to move the door location towards utility+study. 3. Something different. Moved the kitchen to the side to create a large dining room. Added an opening in the dividing wall to add a bar with seats. Added some length to the 'tv wall'. Hope these may inspire. Hi there! It sounds like a fantastic project, and getting the flow right between the kitchen and lounge is so important. Option 1: Keep the sliding pocket door. This would give you convenient access between the kitchen and lounge, helping the space feel open and connected. It’s ideal for quick movement between rooms, though you do lose some wall space in both areas. Option 2: Block the access between the kitchen and lounge. This would give you more wall space, which is great for extra storage or layout flexibility in each room. However, you’d have to go through the hall to reach the lounge, which could disrupt the flow slightly. If you value an open feel and easy access, keeping the door could work well. But if maximising usable wall space is a priority, closing it off might be the way to go. Hope that helps!
