Looks like a lovely high ceiling which lends itself to some stunning lighting. Have a look at Dorsing and Reynolds. We got our bubble lights from them. Not cheap, but really spectacular and a good range of other options. If you can get to Leeds their showroom is worth a visit.

I like the lamp, however you have so much height I think you could go much taller with it, to bring the shade up into the eye line. The large wall spaces lend themselves to art pieces, either art or family (but not the cheesy group portraits !), family travels….

Would you consider colour blocking the two ends of the hall, ceiling also, paint the side door the same colour so it ’disappears’ ?

I might look to increase the skirting height, and the wide radiator cover with a mirror over is a great idea, perhaps reflecting two statement lamps on a slim console table opposite and some fairly large artwork dotted around…..the stencilled flooring in the first radiator photo looks interesting….

A lovely space to work with! Lots of good ideas from the other posters - I certainly would consider a bold “heritage” colour to paint the walls, possibly introducing some panelling too.
