It depends on your planned floor covering. If you are fitting a Ditra decoupling type membrane and and electric heat mat and using a 12mm tile it might be just about okay, if you are fitting a timber floor then it will need to be at least 18mm thick engineered wood with a decent underlay and you may still need a finishing Scotia. If you were planning to tile straight on top or fit a carpet or thin laminate type timber then it is too low. Your options are to fit levelling compound to bring it up to the required level or of you are planning to tile it your might consider raising the level with tile backing insulation boards which are not much more expensive that levelling compound per mm of built up and have the advantage of insulating your floor (even if you already have insulation bellow the screed it helps) Good Luck Terry www.onthetiles.biz

We have slimline aluminium frames throughout our newly moved in house and I have admired their clean, modern look from the moment we had our first viewing. The rooms are flooded with light and the frames give a sharp aesthetic which lends itself to our mid-century look. Have lived with Upvc and wooden frames previously but the aluminum frames have gone to the top of my list.

I'm totally with E D on this one. I actually like the wood, and the pale walls, it has a bit of a Barbican vibe to it. I would consider painting the door at the back a very dark colour such as Railings to shorten the space and install some really good quality LEDs. I would keep it pale, if the pure white is a bit cool then F&B Wimborne White takes the edge off the coolness. You could also put in a really bright vintage runner such as a Moroccan one like this. Etsy has lots of beautiful ones.

I would just use soapy suds and wipe off with a microfibre cloth or similar.
