We just stripped the wall paper from the kitchen wall and want update it. I am confused on what to do. My husband wants to wallpaper it again but I like the idea of stone walls or wood wall/panelling. Any suggestions? Opposite are cupboards in F&B french grey (green) colour and floor is grey. Idea of photos also below. No experience in DIY so easy fix would be good too!

Wallpaper is easy to apply and needs no maintenance in comparison to the other suggestions which will collect dust and grease residue.

This is a really great, if not a bit small, bedroom! Love the window shutters and angled ceilings. I agree with changing the white to a softer colour, Farrow & Ball do some really lovely shades, as above Green Blue is great or something like French Gray. It would look great with the white shutters too. By the way of artwork, I would suggest not to paint on the wall itself but to frame your artwork and hang on the walls, this way it's more easily changeable. I also think using white picture frames will help to keep the room light and won't look so heavy seeing as the room is rather small? Just some ideas, hope they offer some inspiration!

The marketing companies do such a great job that anything you buy will date - even the classics 'evolve' over time - so perhaps go with styles that give you a bit of flexibility - ie that you could change colour of ( painted finish ) or that you could easily change handles on etc so you can keep up with style changes. Re worktops - if you choose something that's within your current budget - with a view to maybe getting your 'dream worktop' in a couple of years ? This might be an option. And just try and get into the habit of drying puddles near places where the worktop had been altered/cut/drilled/joined etc - as if you did choose Laminate due to budget - this could damage it quicker than you would hope !

With real timber worktops I'd recommend an upstand as there should be an expansion gap at the back [also where the worktop is screwed down to the base cabinets, slip brackets should be used], then tile on top of the upstand, might have to raise the sockets though as they look a bit low tbh.
