fence post colour

So we are having a cable wire balustrade around our decking area what colour should we do our posts ? I was at first thinking the same as the decking but now I’m thinking maybe we can do the posts vertically white / almost white and then the post horizontally same colour as our dark decking ? Thoughts ?

Agree with Oasys. Where wooden posts could rot is in the ground however, so make sure they are properly protected at ground level and the timber isn't actually touching the earth. Colour wise you could perhaps consider an ash-white exterior wood stain for the posts. I really like the colour if your panels.

I would paint the posts the same colour as the panels. Keeping everything the same colour keeps the look contemporary without drawing too much attention. The fence should be the backdrop to your garden, not the main feature.

Hi Michal Thanks for your comments.. I would definitely go with the black from the green, it looks much richer and the plants just pop in front of the black. It does not close the garden in at all. As for painting the fence post, I have always painted mine as I don't like the look, I personally think it looks more industrial if they are not painted, also one side of my garden has wooden posts which are painted which I think it would look odd if the other side wasn't. I have always used Cuprinol ducksback, brilliant paint with good coverage. I have so far used nearly three 5L tins of it and have painted 20 panels with two coats. Hope all this helps.
