Have you painted your fence yet? Just bought a sample pot of fresh rosemary but I didn't think it looked so good with the natural greens of the garden and have opted for willow instead. I've painted the bike shed and our new wheelie bin picket fence screen. The shed doors are Wilt Thyme from the previous paint job but I may give them a cream make-over.

This is the new colour - I do prefer it ( it’s tough if I didn’t else I’d be getting a divorce ) just need to add some more colour now and add some new patio furniture and more lights and garden is about done. Thanks everyone for your help - first time I’ve posted and it was really helpful.

I would paint the posts the same colour as the panels. Keeping everything the same colour keeps the look contemporary without drawing too much attention. The fence should be the backdrop to your garden, not the main feature.

Your garden looks quite cottagey so I think soft shades like green or blue for the shed and maybe the arbour. Black is quite modern and edgy, but I think it may well work, but I’m not convinced. I think sleeper raised beds (is that what they are?) look lovely natural. Don’t forget that whatever you paint will need re-doing regularly and can be a burden. If you are planning to put in more plants they may cover the fence a lot. Here’s some colour ideas:-
