Fire safety lighting

Hello! I'm trying to put my lighting (communal space of a dwelling building) to meet fire safety regulations. Currently we have normal lighting (4 lights) activated altogether by a few switches with a timer.

I understand regulations are explained here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fire-safety-risk-assessment-sleeping-accommodation

The only solution proposed by several electricians is motion-activated emergency lighting.

Does anyone has any experience with it? How is the user experience?

Is there any practical alternative?
