house purchase doubt! regret or best Decision?

Interested to know peoples experiences if they’ve gone through with a house purchase that they’ve had doubts or didn’t love it? Did you regret it or love it in the end?

I’m moving 50 miles away from Greater London to live on the Kent coast and while I’m very excited about living near the sea, as the time to exchange is drawing nearer, I’m actually quite apprehensive if I am making a huge mistake. Aside from the amount of change, teens need a new school, leaving friends in the area, and work commute increased 3 times longer. What this really boils down to is the house I’m buying…I like it but don’t love it.!!! I’m not excited which I think It’s a massive problem. After viewing 24 properties I couldn’t connect with any of them so I went for the biggest one in the best location. It’s a 5 bed Victorian terrace which is much bigger house than I actually have at the moment, but I don’t love it and I’ve only seen it twice and each time I saw it I decided I didn’t want to live there because it was gloomy and the decor wasn’t great. But in the end I went for it as After looking at 24 properties, this offered the best location and size and I had timing issues re schools.
I keep thinking I’m concerned by the decor but I’m not sure it’s that because the house that I’m leaving was awful like an old peoples home when I bought it. Also this house is not really bad just needs updating. I’m just not excited and it doesn’t feel right to feel this way. I’m just wondering if anybody else had similar feelings before and they regret it to this day or it’s the best move they made!

Any advice or experiences welcome.
