Is anyone else incapable of making decisions? Sofas this time.
I'm a Libran - they have trouble making decisions and when they do, they worry it's the right one. Me in a nutshell.
I'm waiting for my barn conversion to be completed. I'm downsizing so need two sofas. After literally months of deliberating I think(!) I'm down to two and seriously considering getting one of each in different colours. Both from John Lewis. Croft Melrose and the Penryn, this one a popular style currently. Uploaded pics from their store, the first one is the Penryn.
Not only do I have the problem of choosing the sofa I then have to pic a fabric and colour. People laugh but's debilitating for me, what should be fun is a nightmare!
I like very neutral colours but am trying to be more adventurous and was thinking the Melrose in Isabella Plum and the other in any off white I can find. Or should I get both the same? Help!

Comments (26)Love the wall lights- I think they'll look great with the ceiling shade you already have. the mirror is nice, and better than the one above, but I think you could do better. (the nice square angles in your wall lmap I think need a more angular mirror) I think I saw on Victoria plumb last week a mirror cabinet that was rectangular, and a little more art deco feel. Comments (61)I live in the Scottish Borders and three years ago there was a government incentive to externally insulate the houses. Due to the construction of the houses (poured concrete they couldn’t have cavity wall insulation ) . The difference to the heating bills is unbelievable but the look of the house is fabulous as there was new render put on new window sills and down pipes .i agree with the comment that just doing one house would stand out like a sore thumb but it just takes one to start the ball rolling . Maybe speak to your neighbours and they may want to do the same . All the houses in my street had the cladding and it has transformed the look of the street . I have since revamped my lounge and kitchen. There was nothing wrong with the kitchen cupboards so they where painted ,new work tops and sink . I did have a breakfast bar that took up a lot of room which I have replaced with a glass table . My next project is my bedroom which is getting refitted with new wardrobes and draws . Ex local authority houses are well built and have big rooms , they are worth buying as you can do so much with them ,I have bigger cupboards than the rooms that are in some new builds . Comments (13)I would lose the wooden counter top and pull out larder. Put the hob next door but one to the sink with an extractor above. This will break up the run of wall units. Also think about when you are cooking pasta, filling up a saucepan with water and then draining it. You don't need to cross the room. Where you going to put bin, dishwasher and microwave? I would agree you need more drawers. I love my new pan drawers they hold alot. But my pull out larder does not and things fall down the back all the time. Also when you are taking something out of the oven, where are you going to put it? Comments (16)Hi, I've had leather sofas... wouldn't get them again. They look great and are easy to clean, but if you are someone who gets cold easily and don't like the feel of cold surfaces in the winter you will cringe every time you sit on them in the winter. (I'm guessing you have wood burner because your house gets cold) and if you are someone who is generally hot all the time then in the summer when your're wearing shorts and t-shirt you will stick to them and they will make you very sweaty leaving wet patches as you get up. The worst is when guests leave wet patches where their bums have been! Once the sofa has been worn in a bit and the seat area gets a tiny bit saggy as they all do, you will find yourself sliding into the sag. You will find yourself pulling yourself out each time you get up, especially in the bigger sofas. An occasional chair as in Sonia's picture I think is fine or if they are in a secondary room. Not to mention repair costs if you manage to damage the leather. Regarding cleaning sofas then we bought a upholstery and carpet cleaning machine. (The house had very light cream coloured carpet throughout when we moved in) It works great. We never had a problem with fading or any extra wear and tear....See More- PRO

Have you had a look at Loaf? It's true a designer who offers procurement is often a really fantastic way to go about the process. They can look at the whole scheme and provide you with a "whole look" Even if it's one piece of furniture or two there's accessories and considerations...
At loaf I love Jonesy, Bagsie and Pudding... Have a look and see what you think. They send samples with a little sachet of hot chocolate, so if you're not deciding with someone like me, you can sup a cup and mull over the colours and styles you like for the pair you go for. Here my suggestions are in neutral oat colours but you can choose a range of colours and textures that compliment you and the barn conversion which sounds very exciting.. :))
