Problem with drip marks

Hiya - we had a problem with our steam shower - it came on whilst we were away and loads of excess moisture on the painted walls has meant there are now water drips everywhere. I've tried hot water, and dish soap but it will not budge. Any experts out there that can help?

Is that something you‘ve used before or know works? Just worried about putting it on freshly painted walls?

Have used sugar soap on painted walls when cleaning a rental, it is not a harsh cleaner but is stronger than just using water. Actually, to give an idea of its usefulness- have cleaned above the stove area of cooking grime and it came up great without damaging paint.

I wouldn't waste time repainting it; I like it and, as so many others have said, think it looks flat because it's not jazzed up with accessories. I'd use bolder towels - single colour in contrasting colours - and have bigger towels out. Put something interesting on the walls - ceramic works well in a bathroom and, again, bold colours. Others have suggested plants which I agree with. It just need accents. The floor colour ties in with the surface so I think you could get away with keeping it - you can draw the eye away from it with a dramatic bathmat or rug or similar - it's got to be easy clean/wash as it will get a lot of use. It needs tweaking, not major change.

Have you tried the lithofin products on them? It may well be a polymer residue left over by the grout which will not come out with normal cleaning products. I had a problem with some tiles we sold to a customer and we ended up using 2 different types of products to get it off, but it worked in the end. Lithofin FZ intensive Cleaner & KF cement residue remover were the products that we used that worked, the customer gave the same point as yourself about the marks disappearing when wet but reappearing once dry. We can supply these products. Maybe ask your tiler what grout he used and research to find if it contains polymers?? Hope this helps

I’m not sure - however did you seal the marble when it was fitted? Marble stains really easily. We had marble tiles fitted in our bathroom last year and sealed them as instructed by the supplier. We also had a vanity fitted with a marble top and there were absolutely no instructions about needing to seal it - so I double checked with the bathroom company who sold it - only then did they say it needed sealing. If we hadn’t questioned it, we wouldn’t have known!

I have a new Mira shower with overhead and hand held heads. I have this problem when using the hand held one - after a short time of showering cold water drips from the overhead one. I think it is condensation from rising steam hitting cold metal of overhead head and condensing to drop back down on me! My solution - the overhead head can be tilted a bit so the drops come off a bit to one side and miss me.

I can comfirm that sugar soap didnt work in getting out the drip marks 😞 Repainting it is.

I have drip marks on my dark blue bathroom walls. I wonder if it shows up more because the walls are dark? I will be getting the walls repainted once my decorator can fit me in!

We have white walls aswell as blue and whilst its not as noticable you can still see it unfortunately
