Hello Robin, No need to remove anything just add a huge mirror on the right hand wall with some height as I suggested earlier in the thread, then you will get a border reflected and also the arch! It is quite important to work with what you have, and you can cleverly with the oversized mirror! eBay have a shop for them! Once you paint frame to match the walls you will see how useful it could be. Possibly 8ft by 8ft as high as you can go to get the arch in! It's what I would do.. :))

I absolutely love what you've done, Diana. It's so elegant and stylish, but not fuddy duddy. You've updated it, without spoiling the character and beauty. Way too often, people spoil the most beautiful period houses, trying to be too clever with garish and over the top decor or too many "on trend", fashion features. When really the house needs to just speak for itself. You have a beautiful house.

What an incredible hallway. This is going to look fantastic and have such an impact! Do you like bold colours? Would you like a dark blue, or green? I think it would look so striking with the wooden floor and stained glass of the door. Alternatively, a lighter more subtle colour if dark is not your thing (I love F&B setting plaster, or something similar) and a bold stair runner would really draw the eye into the space. if it weren't for the stained glass, I would possibly suggest a wallpaper instead of bold paint. With the windows and ceiling glass work as such a feature, I would let the cornicing subtly speak for itself, without trying to make it stand out- it is beautiful. What is your plan with the flooring, banisters and stairs? Personally I would paint the banisters- my colour choice would depend on the wall colour choice. I hope that's helpful.
