Depending on how far you budget goes, I would look at adding traditional cornice and pelmet and replacing the plinth with a similar oyster colour. End panels for wall units could also be replaced / added. Some chessboard style tilling in 3 colours would also bring out the walls. It's hard to tell but is the oak surround also on the wall units? I haven't checked your location but this is something we can help with

Personally I'd keep it really simple and light. Paint the upper cabinets to tone with the tiles, or think about replacing the doors with glazed ones—more practical than open shelving, but a similar spacious look. If you were feeling really adventurous you could paper the back of them with mirror leaf/silver leaf for a reflective glow that would also open out the space further. I like the idea of painting the lower doors charcoal (or a warmer grey if you prefer), your room looks very bright so it can take it. A vibrant long rectangular image along the end wall to visually widen the space, characterful rugs and some cheerful kitchen paraphernalia/flowers and I think you'd have a lovely space! You're very lucky, it's really just tweaking.

It really depends on the budget you have and how much work you want to do. If you cant change the kitchen itself then consider painting the units in a white or grey and change the handles. The light can change for a more modern pendant or two. Loose the old fashioned window dressing and change for a more modern roller blind. The glass isn't really very modern or asked for much in kitchen units anymore so you could also buy some frosted looking sticker to go on the inside to blend it a little more and keep it more modern looking. You may need to consider the tiles which again depends on budget. The best option is to replace it for a more modern tile or splash back but if budget is very tight then there are some great quality tile plaints out there which can give a great look if it is done well. I think you can:- Some pictures would really help too. I've a mind to say demolish the conservatory as it doesn't provide you with any beneficial living space, plus, i'm guessing it doesn't have a glass roof and therefore, zaps the light from the potential kitchen diner. Thus, I got rid of it and slightly amended the room dimensions. The lounge area gets 4m square ( more or less ). It's currently 4.23 wide, and I made it 4m long. The French doors open in to the lounge as you have on your plan. As I had pinched 85cm from your lounge layout, I added it to the kitchen diner. A table and Chairs will not fit in to a gap of only 1.5m wide whatever you do. Therefore, I made that area 2.17m - which is still tight but do'able . Our dining table and chairs seats 8. 3 on each side with one at either end. Even when you pull the chairs out to sit down it fits in a gap of 1.85m. ( I didn't touch your load bearing wall ) This leaves the kitchen area as 2.57m ( the same as it is now ) - If you run the units down either side and put in a small Island down the middle, measuring approx 1.75m long, you get unit space combined of 6.89m. Plenty!! Plus, as you've demolished the conservatory you now get your light back. I think that if you were to approach one of the great concept planners on here. they'd be able to do this professionally for you. Or, you could have the plans checked over by a builder and drawn up yourself of course.
