If you were to say, have grey on top and cream on the bottom - with the beech furniture... You will need to be careful as grey is quite a bold colour. With the room being that size, a dark colour can often make a room appear even smaller. If you are not bothered by this, maybe adding some matching home items to the room can make it look more fitting! Sometimes having split wall colours with a different colour for the furniture can sometimes look a little messy, depending on the chosen colours.

Hi Jess, Firstly it looks like a lovely house you are going to be moving to! In regards to layout, have you thought about having your dining area on the back left wall? Potentially a bench style seating on the back wall could be lovely! Couple of examples of what I mean below. Then I would have some arm chairs on either side of the french doors with some nested tables. That way you can sit and have a coffee in the morning looking out into the garden. It would also open up the space so you can be chatting to guests and family at the same time as making a meal. Style wise, I think scandi style would work if that is your preferred, but you can easily mix Scandinavian elements with more traditional pieces for an eclectic and cosy feel. Dining rooms are all about entertainment and dinner conversation. Panelling can provide a wow effect. You don’t need to go all the way around the room. You can have panelling on the wall without the doors and have a gallery wall on the conservatory wall near the door. Modern panelling can be as attractive as the traditional. You can also paint the wall half way or third way up and that will act as a panelling too.

Ok, there's a couple of tricks you can do. I would personally start getting the right furniture. An oval table, ideally extendable would be a good start. Check out the link below. This one is a bit expensive but it's great for inspiration for both the table and the chairs. Also consider getting a nice rug to 'mark up' the permanent location for the table, and maybe suspended lighting. You'd have all these in the left hand side (from the plan), it's a shame the bifolds open from left though. Could be worth investing in new bifolds to open from the right side.
