If the carcass is in good condition why don't you just buy new shaker doors? With all the gluing on and respraying there probably is no cost benefit to doing this apart from more colour choice. It might also make your doors very thick where the shaker profile has been attached. Shaker doors are always matt and are fiddly to keep clean due to the dust collecting properties of the profile as opposed to plain slab doors.

I spoke to the respraying company and they said exactly the same about it looking too bulky. They are going to price me on providing unfinished shaker doors and keep all the panels, plinths e.t c and spraying them all but I guess I need to price up buying all new . Any suggestions where to go to look at new ?

B&Q have quite a range of finished replacement doors in various sizes so may be worth a look?

Howdens does a decent shaker door. The issue will be whether they supply them in the exact size you need. Do you know who supplied your kitchen? The high gloss white end panels might also not match the matt shaker doors very well. It's a completely different style. We used to sell bespoke shaker style kitchens and there are lots of considerations. The handle styles are completely different too and you will have to have a lay-on door instead of an inframe style which is preferable for a hard working shaker style kitchen. Have you thought how a matt shaker door and drawer fronts (if you have them) will look paired with your end panels?

Thank you, I would be getting the end panels sprayed as well if that is the route I take. Do you mean the style or the gloss / colour Isla?. if the latter, these would be sprayed the same colour and finish too

Both. A high gloss finish is not truly shaker style. I'm sure the cost of replacement is comparable with repraying costs not to mention quicker and less messy. Don't forget about the cost of new handles too as those top fitted ones are not suitable for shaker style.

Looking at the below picture of your kitchen, i agree with Daisy that you should visit an independant as you may well need made to measure sizes, you'll also need to replace the decor panels for both wall and base units. i also see that either side of your extractor you don't have any decor panels so depending on the colour you go with, this will show up and look unfinished IMHO. if you're going with a shaker style i think you'll also need to add the cornice and pelmet as well. Agree with Isla that a gloss finish isn't really a shaker style but there are some door suppliers who do offer this as a vinyl wrapped option mdf door.
