Personally if it was my room Sophie I would choose white over taupe for the 3 other walls. I like the simplicity of white and then you can add art or a mirror on the wall to bring in more colour and interest. You could then bring in the taupe with soft furnishing highlights like cushions on the bed and a throw rug. What flooring is in the room are you keeping the floorboard I can see in the photo? This can also change the warmth of the room.This is a bedroom I decorated for a client a few years ago. The furniture, wall colour, blinds and lamp bases were all my client's existing items. We added the custom made geometric lampshades, white bedding, quilted taupe throw and large cushions and custom made smaller cushions that later on had the clients initials embroidered. Plus the large mirror behind the bed.

Hey Tasha. Without knowing your style and what you hope to achieve, I thought Id put together a few ideas for you to show you some colours using blue in spaces. I personally am drawn to brighter colours, or the exact opposite really moody and serious, without much in-between. I would definitely think about whether yo want the room to feel bright, happy, dark, intelligent... you get my point. Wow! I'd go for a deep navy wallpaper with a subtly textured look. Something like Galerie Deauville (G23052) from e.g. http://www.wallpapersandborders.co.uk/deauville-wallpaper-g23052-by-galerie-15865-p.asp (worth getting a sample as it looks nothing online!).
