I feel like you need something heavier to anchor the lightness of the space. Love the idea of Demi lune table,

(and navy is inspired!) but a chest would also work well with the defined lines of the rug (unless a chest would block the doorways).

Alas, the latter two are too deep. Under 12" is comfy there. The first one would need to be shipped from the UK... which would be bad value as i more than doubles the price.

One more pretty navy one, but ouch!-- the price (that's brass trim, not paint.)

Rather than a table, have you considered a wall-mounted demilune? Or a shelf with decorative bracket? They make whale and anchor and mermaid kitchy brackets...but I was thinking a cool piece of driftwood could work. I love driftwood.... or maybe a live edge shelf.

Or skip the wallpaper and go with a custom tree shelf...

They have two peices that would fit well. They come in any custom color you want from Ben Moore or FnB.

I have a friend whose kitchen island is painted Hale Navy. It is very pretty.

This is south of Boston. 30 x 30 x 12.

Hale Navy was the paint of choice when navy started trending in kitchens five or so years ago.

BM Hale Navy is my favorite navy paint. I painted my very ugly orange-y oak vanity in the powder room HN and it made a huge difference.

The last mockup is my favorite. I prefer the more substantial chest with drawers in that space.

I like the contrast of blue against the wallpaper and with the lamp. F&B Hague Blue, Drawing Room Blue (might be too bright), Stiffkey Blue (might be too grey), Scotch Blue (closest to true navy).

I like the table Jilly re-posted above; it looks more substantial and intentional than the one with the open lower shelf. I also like Hale Navy as a color, although you might want something a shade lighter depending on the RL color of the wallpaper.

Love tablecloths and actually had one like that made for our basement to fit a table we had made to go in an odd space between two perpendicularly (sic?) oriented daybeds. I would not use that treatment in your hall as it looks a bit too formal for the space and makes what would be a small occasional piece into something that might look as though it was moved there from one of the public rooms. The tablecloth for our basement was not my first choice, rather it was a necessity. We could not find a suitable size or shape ready made and had one of the carpenters make one of plywood. I would love to use a beautifully tailored tablecloth like that as a dressing table topped with glass or an entry table.

McHale Navy is a great one , and another lighter great one is Van Deusen Blue.

Mtn, you've moved away from the tablecloth, but I wasn't addressing particular one, but the way the later two were made with big inverted box pleats that made the panels stick out. Hard to tell if the first one has a small corner pleat or a seam, but the front falls smooth. That is both fabric and lack of those big pleats across the front. That aside, I do like the navy tables. I like demilunes but the last one you posted looks really good. I know it's a mock up, but I might go a shade darker on the blue. Did you just find a bargain?

Hard to tell, but I think everything the seller makes has the big inverted box pleats, which I really like but prob do not belong on a lil' table in an inconsequential little hallway.

I am not able to mock up the table in a specific blue; just using Google slides to recolor it by eye.

I am here to defend skirted tables. This is the console in my breakfast room. Ignore the odd little ears. It wasn’t finished in this picture and we were trying to figure the exact size needed for the top. I love my skirted console. It has an inverted pleat in the center front and one on each corner. And it hides more stuff under there than you can imagine!

Having mounted my defense, I’ll have to concede that Mtn’s tiny table is probably too tiny for a skirt. My fave so far is the Society Social with the clipped corners. I have no blue to recommend that hasn’t already been mentioned. The book shelves in DSIL’s study are Hale Navy

I really like skirted table, dare I say they seem Southern to me, very "Verandah." I love that table; didn't you end up hanging plates above it?

I like the last one best. The weight/mass of the piece feels right to me for the location.

Bbstx, others may differ, but I didn't mean to vilify all skirted tables or even inverted pleats. I didn't like the ones in the photos above because they appear to be a heavier fabric with a lot of body plus contrasting bands that appear to make them stand out even fuller. Yours hangs softly, rather than looking like it is wearing a petticoat. I think that is a much better look -- and I like the color, even with an inverted pleat. You have to have some fullness if you ever want to lift the skirt for cleaning or storage. The DSIL's built-ins look great in Hale Navy.

I think a vintage piece painted would be a good blend of old and new. Whereas a new table, wallpaper, and rug is too much "new" in the area.

Right, Naval was that other color that was so popular. I even Googled it the other day to be sure that my memory was right, but I thought it was a Ben Moore color so my search for BM Naval came up empty. Everyone was doing their kitchen islands in navy.

Well, the FBM lady has reappeared, she is travelling till next week so hopefully that pans out as that is my #1.

Oddly, there are a lot of things that fit that are like $200 or less, but BTDT and I consider my warped leg a blessing in disguise and a warning that, even for a piece of furniture that will never do more than hold a lamp and create a vista from another room, there is such a thing as toooooo junky.

There was no middle ground; everything else I liked (and I have spared you some, believe it or not). is $1500, really $2000 w tax and shipping, and takes 10 weeks. And I didn't adore any of it. My new fave is this but it is a tad wider that I'd like and the wrong color and $1800 plus tax and shipping.

So looks like I will have to be patient. 😝 Not my strongsuit

PS I did our K island in CT in blue in, I think, 2020 or 2021. I tried both Naval and Hale Navy and they were way too dark. Went the other direction with FnB Parma Gray, which I would rename "it's a boy!" because Baby Blue is taken. It took getting used to.

Oh, good! Happy the FBM lady has resurfaced because I think that is the perfect piece. All the others are different degrees of nice, but I think too airy (or something) for the space.
