Console Table and mirror

last year

I have two large square antique glass in black metal frame panelled mirrors 120cm wide would a console underneath look right as same width and any ideas what type of console would look great for modern look .hoping it will open room?

The carpets are a greige on an iPad and look good! I suppose its key not to add too much but add enough for interest as halls can be boring.I really like both ideas, especially the first pic as love those mirrors (you can get small versions too) with the prints. The benches also look really narrow in both? I'd put templates on the floor and practice walking around them! I had a console in my last hall but got rid of it in the end as it was a squeeze and just not practical. I think your hall is wider though and the benches are definitely narrower so should be fine but try it! I think a shelf and pics could look good, it looks as if the ceiling is high enough

Hello Crittee I agree with Sort our Stuff - The centre of the mirror should be positioned at eye level. As people's height varies, I have always had them installed for clients so the centre of the mirror is 1.5mts from the floor. Sometimes on a console table it looks best to have it slightly closer to the table. Here's a few interesting ideas from West Elm. What is the length of your console? If it's around 100cm to 120cm then a 76cm mirror would work. I''d prefer a group of mirrors like this below. The gold frames would work well with your timber work. Maybe your lamp is a little small for this table and a group of vases or ceramics would look better. Or add a round mirror like these two examples not rectangular. Plus add a collection of vases or ceramics if you like a splash of colour as a highlight

I’m thinking a black console table, or a very dark ebony wood maybe? Will look lovely against the taupe walls. Difficult to see the mirror properly, but my first thought is a nice black framed round mirror maybe. I would also have chosen a console table that you love then choose the mirror to go with it. Not much help I’m afraid but I’ll look for some images for ideas.

Your mirrors are pretty big and although they’d look good in the alcoves (are you planning to put a mirror on either side of your fireplace?) I think they might dwarf a standard console. Would you consider having a joiner build fitted units into the alcoves instead?

I think the mirror is too big for that particular wall, but it may go nicely on the wall to the left maybe if there’s room? Do you have a dining room? It would look really good in a dining area or a hall. I’m not sure about your console table choice, but it may be just that I like classic decor and it’s a bit too modern for me! Love to see what others think - Isla, Minnie?

To work. Something a bit wider and I think the piece you are considering is too small.

Thank you all for taking time to respond . I appreciate. I would love ideas for console I have been looking for ages and i can’t decide as don’t want to get it wrong . Sometimes overthinking . 120cm console is what I need to fit mirrors . I keep changing my option just need to get mirrors hung and move on but can’t until I know height of console Thank you
