Storage closet help?

last year

I have a closet in my hallway which will house all cleaning products, iron+board, hoover, jackets etc. I am looking for an effective and efficient way to design the closer as to store everything.

It is 1.76m long X 1m Depth.

I do have a budget but prefer something I can diy.

Any suggestions would be amazing ?

It’s probably best for you personally to work out exactly what you need to store and the dimensions of those things and work from there. i’m not sure you’re meant to”cover” a fuse box so would bear that in mind. i cant really work out the height but I might have a hanging rail for coats above the hoover. Floor to ceilings shelves (depth wise up to the door) for the cleaning products where the ironing board is and low shelves for shoes along the length. Ironing board on the back of the door for easy access. Hope that makes sense!

I had a similar space and ended up using labeled bins on shelves for seasonal stuff, plus hooks on the door for smaller things like scarves and bags. Keeping it tidy was tough until I started using house cleaning services in star—they helped me stay on top of clutter so it didn’t pile up again. It’s made everything so much easier to find and manage.

Removing the cupboard sounds like a great idea! It will definitely open up the space and provide an opportunity for extra storage. To maximize the storage opt for a double floorstanding vanity unit. i meant to have the bed over the existing wall and part of the alcove like this, with the blue bit being built to look like a wall, but with access through a simple door... Depending on type of bed headboard you could have recessed shelves built into the storage above and/or beside the bed to act as bedside table.

I think swapping the patio doors for a proper front door would be a great idea. I don’t get why people have sliders at the front of the house, just looks odd and everything is on view. I think storage with doors is the way to go. Open shelving just looks untidy. This unit is from Etsy, but I’m sure a good carpenter can make it for you, or if budget is tight then worth looking to see if IKEA do something similar?

Hi Alexandra, this is a nice bathroom and you can do a lot with it. If you do not want to replace your fixtures with some built-in vanity etc, an under-sink cabinet can be a start. there are a few cabinets around, I like this one from Dunelm Adding shelves above the toilet would balance out the wall space. add some greenery or artificial plants, candles, stuck toilet paper, etc. A bigger mirror cabinet could be a good idea also. This IKEA Hemnes mirror cabinet is 98cm high and has a nice open shelf too. It is also quite pretty and can add a cozy look to a modern bathroom. TheseIKEA Hooks with suction cups are useful as you do not need to drill the walls. A few shower baskets with suction cups would look good in the shower.
