Don't forget the party wall agreement with your extension. Could you include a floorplan with the proposed new area shown in a different colour to get a feel for the extra space. Do you have a loft conversion?

we would like to go out as much as 4m or just under 4 meter. extend the kitchen sideways by 1.5. Utility room could have its own patio. But my concern is that by inserting utility room there we are creating a long corrridor of about 3 m? We will add a kitchen counter on the other side of the utility room. If the Uroom is 2.3 meter long, and kitchen counter is 60cm - as you walk into the kitchen, would that make it feel like a long corridor? perhaps we need to give up on the idea of pantry as i feel there is not much space for utility rooom and pantry- or we give on patio but then that could mean we many need to carry the clothes to the garden in summer. I am not a big fan of a dryer - not enviromental also think it damages the clothes.

Don't give up on the pantry. There are beautiful fully equipped pantry cabinets available. It's also a lot easier to see your supplies with a purpose built unit rather than just shelves in a small room.

any ideas where to source pantry cabinets from?

Harvey Jones has beautiful ones for ideas only as you can only buy them as part of a kitchen. M&S (a fraction of HJ's price) had some lovely ones or try Neptune. Apologies, M&S has discontinued their Padstow pantry cabinet but the Cotswold Company has some nice versions too.
