Did you use a good primer first like Zinzzer? I used F&B Wevet floor paint years ago and it was amazing. Agree about oil based being more longwearing. Try Little Greene as they still do some lead based paints, or they did? You need some professional advice.Try Brewers.

I would guess your original paint was oil based which is much tougher than water based eggshell. I think searching for a company that still sells oil based floor paint may be the best option.

I'm sure they will have a better colour selection than the dreaded ronseal and all the other garage type floor paints. I think the Zinzzer primer (oil based) makes a big difference too.
