Hi Natalie, We went for glue down. It is more forgiving on our uneven floor in the sense that while you can feel the floor is not level if you really concentrate, the floor itself does not move or bounce which in my opinion is preferable. Also it is a very large room so if it did ever get damaged we could unstick and lift individual planks more easily. We also wanted it to run under the island for a seamless look which again is not advised with click as the weight on top can warp the boards. I would add it was more expensive to fit...and an absolute nightmare because we went for small herringbone. However we found a flooring that we absolutely love and it looks stunning. We've had a few people believe it was real wood at first glance which fills me with joy! We went for invictus brand highland oak. Biggest tip with gluedown is allow the planks to fully acclimatise to the room for at least 3 days before fitting.
