Colour recommendations!
I'm buying new chair covers as these are flaking. Thinking of velvet...any suggestions for what colour? It's a small lounge/dining room. Sofa is light grey (pic isn't great lighting), bookshelves are oak wood and sideboard is dark grey. I'd say the current chairs in the pic are accurate - light grey is the couch colour, dark grey is the sideboard colour. I think this time round I'll go for all the same colour chairs, but not sure if I should stick with a grey (light or dark?) or bring in a colour (navy?). Any advice appreciated!

Comments (9)hi Zoe, if you are fixed on glass, you should probably go for a strong colour or the kitchen could be quite monotone. you could have a painted wall and have a 50mm or 100mm upstand in the same finish as the worktop around the hob you could have glass or a metal full height splashback. what is the colour of the floor in the kitchen as that could provide help in deciding the colour if glass is your preferred solution. best Rowland...See MoreExtension Render Paint Colour Advice
Comments (12)I would paint the walls a dark green e.g. Farrow & Ball Card Room Green 47, or Green Smoke 79. Then plant some climbers up it either side of the patio doors like stephanotis floribunda, which can thrive in a large pot/planter. Then consider a couple of window boxes beneath the cill that way you’ll benefit from looking out on plant colour from inside the house as well as having an external seasonal display outside. I re plant my wall boxes just twice a year - summer bedding plants and then winter/spring as in the photos. ‘Lechuza Balconera’ boxes and support brackets can be found through a google search. last yearI’ve just ordered a sofa in a gorgeous charcoal grey velvet, and as Sarah says grey is considered a neutral. I think navy is still very popular and a lovely mossy green looks so inviting. None of these below are my sofa but it does reflect the lovely colours that are soft and neutral’ish.
