I'm glad you decided to move things around although I'm still not convinced you're planning it right. Why have wasted corners? Personally I'd want the sink by the window. I wouldn't want to be looking at a blank wall as you have a huge window. I'm aware you have to have the hob over here because of the extraction from previous memory. Are you going to use the some units or are you buying replacements? Take advantage of the floor to ceiling height and have tall units where possible. Consider using 900 x 900 L shaped corner bases in each corner. You will not get those wasted corners and by having these and using 170 degree hinges you will be able to open each door fully therefore gaining full access to each corner. Plan around these for the back wall. For instance 2 x 900L bases, plus a dishwasher at 600mm and a sink carcase at 600mm equals 3m so if you have that measurement available that's what I'd go with if you're adamant about keeping the sink here.

I would use a wire brush and a blow torch to remove the remaining plant remnants on the wall. I would then have the windows and front door painted in a lighter, neutral shade if replacing them isn't an option. If there is stained, coloured glass in the window I would replace it eith a clear, plain glass panel. After doing all of that I would look to have rhe render repaired and repainted a softer white. I think you could make a massive difference to your house without a massive budget.

Sonia the wood is there because it is the underlying structure holding the thing up! It just needs cladding or rendering. The reason it is wood rather than blocks is because the windows were late in arriving, it was mid winter and we needed to complete the structure. With it being bespoke sizes of window the builders were nervous to build in blocks and then may have found the windows wouldn't fit. So the wood went up and windows finally arrived and went in. Sadly the builder became very ill (cancer) and so he handed over all the trades contacts to us to complete ourselves which we are now doing. He had to wrap up his business so he isn't here to sort it. But it's not such a huge drama and thanks to Isla and our other plasterer we are confident to cover over that wood and finish the job.
