It would be helpful to have an idea of what is or isn’t working for you. Are these the letting agent’s photos? My first thought was that your bed dominates the space so if you were to swap it for a sofa bed you could create an L shape with your current sofa and have a footstool/coffee table too, giving you a cosy area to watch tv but then you’d have to take out your bed each night. Then again, maybe you like to watch tv in bed? A floor lamp, rug, throws and cushions will all help to make the space your own but you may have added these already. Are you on your own? Not sure how much space there is by the sliding doors but perhaps you have room for a small fold up table and couple of chairs?

There’s nothing that doesn’t necessarily work, but I would like to try and make a bit more space to make it homely. The size of the bed doesn’t help, but because I rent, I can’t throw anything away because I would have to replace it before I move out. I wanted to put the tv on the wall, but the wall isn’t strong enough to hold it. The sofa is a sofa bed, but again, I can’t get rid of anything as I would have to replace it before I leave. What you said about a rug and coffee table sounds nice. The wall comes out a bit too next to my bed so can’t even push it any further and don’t want to block the windows as that’s where I put my washing to dry. Yes, I live in my own. The pictures are from before I moved in. This is how it is currently. (Don’t mind the mess haha)

If you wanted to try to visually separate the bedroom area from the living area you could try moving the storage chest (with the tv on top) closer to the kitchen, directly across from the sofa. Then if you had a large circular rug, cushions and a footstool that would feel cosier. What is the orange thing that’s occupying that space at the moment?

My advice is divide the zone space, place the bed near the window but hid it behind low cabinet so you cant view the bed if you sit on the sofa,

move the current tv cabinet and place it across the sofa, hiding the bed make sure the guest will not focus on the bed or making you too lazy and get back to bed, and when you seleep you will feel more protected

my last advice is to switch the bed and sofa position so it align with the dining table so people on the dinign table can also watch tv
