I would definitely use railings for the island and use ammonite on the cabinets. I think it's a great colour, more interesting than strong white. Also don't forget that other design elements such as window treatment, accessories, rug and your wall paint colour will also play a role in the overall look and feel of your kitchen which you can change up if you get bored of them. These are the little things that make all the difference and having ammonite as a backdrop is just right.

Hi, in my opinion, you need for the top a darker, neutral tone to add some contrast with the big amount of white of the doors. You can even go for bit of texture on this top, as it is a good opportunity to warm up the kitchen, very cold at present. There is a wide variety of worktops available at Egger, 38 mm thickness.From them I would suggest Red Brown Leon Slate or Brown Malawi ( with wood grain texture), for a nice, warm but darker top.Valetta Sand or Isodora Beige, might be a second option, too, if you don't like contrasts. Another interesting option would be a texture similar to Corten Steel or Cooper Or, if you feel adventurous and want an element of surprise, you can always try a top on real reclaimed or distressed wood. If you think the cabinets look bare without the trim it’s probably just because that’s what you’re used to looking at. I’ve never had cornice and pelmet (trim) because I prefer a plain no frills kitchen with less to clean. Clean and sleek lines. Regarding stainless steel plinths, it’s a no from me. The images don’t look grey on my screen BTW, they look more like a pale timber colour. I’m sure you’d be able to pick up some plinth to be a very close match.

I know what you mean, but the wall will be knocked to thz dining room and then from dining to living room which is south facing, so I am hoping a little bit more light will filter through there that way... The kitchen area will be very small and I decided to emphasise its size and cosiness ratjer than make it pretend its bigger if that makes sense? I love white kitchens, but the rest of my space will be darker tones and dont want the kitchen to look too 'kitcheny' if that makes sense? 🙈
