Need helping picking a kitchen worktop
We've just finished fitting our kitchen. It's a handleless gloss white from Crown Imperial.
The colour for the room is neutral as you can tell. The cabinets are white, the handle channels are aluminium, appliances are stainless steel and black, and the wall paint is French Pale Grey by Little Greene.
The rear wall with the TV bracket on it has textured wallpaper from John Lewis in a darker grey.
We're looking at Quartz, however need to keep the costs down. We were going to go with a light grey, however after receiving a sample, we're now quite worried that this is going to make the kitchen look extremely boring and clinical.
If anyone has any suggestions for the type of worktop, please shout up. We're not a fan of the huge flakes in the worktops either

Comments (2)Hi Tom. There is so much to choose from: natural - including marble (needs a little more maintenance) and granite and non-natural materials, such as quartz or Corian. It is down to what kind of look you are wanting to achieve and whether you wish the floor to match the worktop or to compliment it. If you are looking for something maintenance free and with a modern look, then I guess man-made quartz is your best bet. Man-made quartz is Man-made quartz is achieved by mixing crushed quartz with poly-structural resin, and vacuum pressed. The result is a non-porous material with outstanding characteristics, which is suitable for many interior applications, including kitchen worktops. But this is only an option. Comments (2)Dawn this is a design forum and the pics on Houzz come from a multitude of sources. The picture that you found should have indicated it's source and the firm that sells it. I searched for the product and this page has a link to a few companies that sell it, but as we can't see where you are, we can't advise on those in your locale. solaris granite If i were you i'd google 'solaris granite' and then narrow it down to your area. If you look at images of it, it's actually a lot darker than you think. It's a dark beige with brown veins. Counteredge is a company on Houzz not part of the granite range. They sell Solaris Granite, which is the colour name you want.
