One Wall Office Dimensions?
Comments (9)If you are thinking to tuck a chair under so that’s out of the way, I would perhaps go He length of a chair and just over, to give room to put things on the desk itself. I measured my standard minimal but comfy dining chair and that was 40cm excluding the backrest. So perhaps go 45cm wide? Also think about using a ‘leggy’ chair, just like in the photo so it doesn’t take much visual space....See Morecolumn dimensions
Comments (2)Miriam Do you actually mean columns as in structural elements or do you mean decorative pilasters? The size of a column is dependant on the load it is carrying and if these are load bearing elements. I would consult an architect and an engineer. There are standard sizes but the choice is driven by the structural requirements. If they are pilasters. Then a starting point would be to talk to suppliers of the plaster replica's https://www.lassco.co.uk/a-pair-of-english-cast-plaster-pilasters or others. They should be able to give you some guidance on the choice and size modules. Hope this helps Best David...See MoreStruggling to visualise room dimensions
Comments (6)rinq good point. Here is what we have so far. Some notes: - The rest of the plan has changed slightly so I don't want to waste people's time commenting on that. I will upload our final draft in a new post when we have it for feedback on the whole plan. - The main room in question has had 1m added along the horizontal to make it 8.90m long. - We have decided we want to swap the kitchen and dining rooms. - The front door has also been removed from that back wall (the bottom of the plan) so that back wall is now doorless. The front door is now located where the word "screenshot" is conveniently located. :D Ellie good questions. The house is being designed now. The architects have suggested a room this size based on feedback we gave them. Now we have it drawn up we don't love it. For example, I hate having the back of the sofa in the way of the hallway there. I think that is terrible design. It all looks cramped to me. There are 3 of us in this home. In the plan above you can see a rectangle in the top right with the lines across it. That is a closed in porch/veranda so there is some living space there too. Otherwise, this is it. minipie thanks very much. It's good to know it works for you and yours. I've added the proposed zoning above and wondered if that resembled yours in any way?...See MoreIdeal dressing room dimensions
Comments (2)It depends on a lot, like the shape of the room, the access points and dimensions around the room and so on. If you imagine that the ideal depth would be a minimum of 500mm (up to 600mm) for hanging space in open units - depending on what you are hanging or shelving. And you would want around 1m for dressing and access - it should give you a good idea. Here is a plan view which may help you. fingers crossed. This is what I would be looking for ideally in terms of dimensions for that layout. I hope it helps, regarding, Gina...See More- 12 years ago
