As OnePlan says, layout works & not being greeted by a wc is a bonus! Get the lighting right & it won't be a problem not having a window. I would recommend having lighting switched separately as well as extractor fan,with secondary lighting for when you may need to use the wc in the night etc & don't want to be blinded by the main lights - wall lights or LEDs at low level under vanity unit, left wall & right wall from end of bath to wc for example. Invest in a mirrored cabinet with integrated lighting & shaver socket & would recommend a large mirror on the left wall to make the room feel more spacious. We have fitted a mirror from ikea several times on previous projects, 2m x 80cm for £80. Regarding tile choice I wouldn't be to concerned about the finish of the tile if your lighting is right. I have gone with the same tile for both walls & floor in ensuite & small bathrooms which helps the room feel bigger. Whites & neutral tones are always a winner in smaller spaces. How about a vision blind or just plain horizontal blinds as they can be angled meaning that you can see out but others can't see in. You do have a couple of houses that can see straight in so my suggestion for the long term would be to turn your attnetion to the planting in your garden. As long as the neighbours can see directly in you will need to block out the view from the bath itself. You have plenty of room at the bottom of the garden to get creative. Furthermore you could pot plant a hedge on the balcony directly outside to hide you when in the bath and have a motorised blind which you close down for getting in and out. If there is nothing above the bathroom a velux roof light will also allow star gazing.

You have a fairly small bathroom, which is why the tiles have been kept neutral and light. What's missing is some items that will pop. You could spring for a nicer sink arrangement. The cabinet around a pedestal was never a good look. Is there enough room between the bath and the opposite wall to turn the sink and move it towards the toilet to give you more worktop space and storage at the end of the bath? If not, keep the sink where it is, but use a vanity to look more fitted. The bath can be altered to provide more storage. Put up a hand towel bar or ring above the right hand side of the sink. Get rid of the toilet roll stand and hang the roll from a holder that matches the hand towel rail. Store extra rolls under the sink. Paint the long wall in one of the colours in the border tile, perhaps a richer beige. An interesting large mirror would visually widen the room. Alternatively, try a pale blue wall colour and richer mid blue towels mixed with brown towels. A light over the sink area would vastly improve that corner. The floor does nothing for the room. Why not choose a vinyl floor from Amtico or Karndean in a dark wood board effect? The tiles in your bathroom can be skimmed over by a professional fitter and the new floor laid directly on top. Can i give a shout out to the good old fashioned shower curtain. After years of wanting a bathroom revamp in what looks a similar sized bathroom to yours, I was delighted to have a sliding shower screen installed. It's two glass panels and swings out to clean the bath and for ease if access and does a pretty good job of keeping the water in. But I hate it. It's an absolute nightmare to clean and once achieved (with great difficulty and a mixture of scratch sponges and old toothbrushes) then keep looking clean. The gunge that builds up in places you can't see until you get your head under the bottom silicone strips is horrible and I'm constantly having to unscrew these to clean them thoroughly. If I could go back to a shower curtain, without damaging my tiles I'd do it tomorrow! I miss chucking it in the washing machine then buying a new one for under a tenner when it got a bit ratty or I fancied a new colour /style . I'm happy to try and find you the link (amazon if I remember correctly) if you're fixed on a screen because I think I chose the best I could have for my bathroom but just thought it might be worth mentioning before you go ahead with your bathroom update.
