How can I decorate this rental house?

My hubby and I are moving into rental accommodation for 6 months. We've chosen a house, purely based on location and size but the decor is dreadful! The wallpaper is the worst thing. We're not allowed to paint/hand pictures etc. Although we'll only be there for 6 months, I'd like to be able to walk around the house without getting a headache. Any suggestions?

very nice kitchen indeed. and I can see that you already have lots of storage .So here is an idea for a little breakfast/chat area.( long worktop - bar on the steel legs could be a better option than a heavy square table) We all know that most of our guest always ending up in the kitchen for a friendly chat :-) I would add a little free standing -side cabinet (on the left side of the image) for a handy glasses snack etc... it is just a quick draft ;-)

Ours is off centre, but that’s because of the door opening so it’s not that obvious. We have 3 frames hung in a row above bed. You could add a small chair or free standing tall mirror in the corner

Somebody got a bargain on tacky wallpaper! Use a staple gun and sheets to strategically cover up some of it.

Thankfully the furniture is not mine! I have a lot of plain white/ grey pieces, plus some plain bedsheets too, so hopefully I can detract from that dreadful wallpaper. I know it's probably not worth the effort for 6 months, but I genuinely suffer a lot from migraines, so I'm doing everything I can to minimise them!

I don't think it is that dreadful. I would concentrate on some decorative items that are colorful, so that your eye goes to them.

Also, you could consider offering to pay for removal of the wallpaper and paint (doesn't hurt to ask).

What gives you the headaches? Patterns?

Probably stress and the paper is stressing her out. I used to have them post stressing event, like exams in college.
