I think the option of having the tv under the stairs.. Is the best idea.. Maybe have a tv, media unit made to measure if possible .. Draws or cupboards underneath for storage. Small shelves at the sides for little ink-naks. If needed.. A smaller maybe glass oblong table in front of the window. The table will still allow light through.. Making sure passable through to the stairs.. And the sofa on the back wall.. Lovely rug in the centre with coffee table or chest for extra storage if needed... Maybe some open floating shelves off set above the sofa. Use an accent colour with accessories.. From the rug or cushions.. Don't go overboard with large piece of furniture... Simple statements....

Some photos of this area of your home as it is at present would be useful, but here's a few pointers: depending on what country you are in you may need to get your neighbours permission to build up to their party wall (in the UK you definitely do) so make sure you can get them on board before progressing. depending on what direction this area is facing, and again whereabouts your home is a lot of glass could either make it unbearably hot (south facing in northern hemisphere) or very cold (north facing in northern hemisphere) so you might want to consider incorporating some solar shading or shuttering in the design, or some more unglazed elements to fill with insulation and keep it warm respectively. glazing to roofs can bring light deep into the footprint and can really lift the quality of the space, but too much glazing in a roof could result in unwanted glare, and again overheating or over cooling and can also be quite costly, so you may want to consider using it tactically rather than to the roof wholesale. I'd like to convert an en suite bathroom into a laundry. I have a 4 bedroom house with a 2 separate toilets and a family bathroom(with walk in shower and bath). the en suite is off my mom's room and due to water restrictions in my country, hasn't been used in over a year. the change means we have to walk out of the back door onto the covered patio as we will need to move the door to the opposite side. I'm not planning to move anytime soon, so resale is not really an issue for me. Any pearls of wisdom for me?
