The double-height entrance hall, framed with honey oak beams, features a sleek walnut staircase with glass balustrades, setting a luxurious tone upon arrival. The heart of the home, an open-plan Shaker-style kitchen and dining room, offers a warm, cosy atmosphere with exposed oak ceiling joists, large islands with induction hobs, double ovens, and a spacious fridge freezer, ideal for family living. The mezzanine landing provides panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and leads to five en-suite bedrooms, each with vaulted ceilings, creating a bright and airy feel. The master en-suite boasts a stunning gable window, framing the exact view Philip fell in love with, while the bold statement bathrooms throughout the house add a sense of modern luxury. A hidden entrance leads to Philip’s contemporary man cave, a contrasting retreat that looks out over the serene lake and stables. With three walls of floor-to-ceiling glazing, the garden room offers a tranquil space to relax while keeping an eye on the horses in the fields below. The living room features oak floor joists, adding warmth and character, while the impressive fireplace, built using the door jams from the original longhouse, serves as a striking centrepiece. The eastern elevation captures the sun, while panoramic honey oak apex windows allow light to flood into the cosy bedrooms, creating a luxurious hotel-like ambiance with a countryside twist. The bespoke chandelier, commissioned specifically for the double-height entrance hall, adds a touch of grandeur and is perfectly framed by the surrounding oak and glass. Every detail has been meticulously considered, from the lighting choices and colour schemes to the hidden man cave and feature walls, creating a home that is both practical and aesthetically stunning. The home’s natural honey-coloured stone exterior blends seamlessly with the landscape, giving the appearance of a property that has stood in its location for centuries. A 6 bedroom full-house renovation of a Queen-Anne style villa, using punchy colour & dramatic statements to create an exciting & functional home for a busy couple, their 3 kids & dog. We completely altered the flow of the house, creating generous architectural links & a sweeping stairwell; both opening up spaces, but also catering for the flexibility of privacy required with a growing family. Our clients' bravery & love of drama allowed us to experiment with bold colour and pattern, and by adding in a rich, eclectic mix of vintage and modern furniture, we've created a super-comfortable, high-glamor family home.

A 5 floor family townhouse refurbishment, including a basement, rear, side and 5th floor addition. A warm purple-grey micro cement hallway floor strikes one straight away, picking up on the special stain glass front door and the purple heart and bronze console table. Polished plaster walls above painted paneling threads itself through the core of the house – a lovely backdrop to a special contemporary art collection. Every room off this staircase presents a slightly different decorative feeling, from a basement clad in felt walling, to the master bedroom’s raw silk wallpaper and the bathroom’s dirty pink polished plaster and bespoke terrazzo vanity, to dark grey painted boys bedrooms and a limed Douglas Fir floor and screen divider in the 5th floor study and library. Ali Robinson designed a black and perforated steel room divider between the family room and kitchen to display some lovely ceramics and nick nacks – large enough to do its separating job but transparent enough to view the rear garden from the kitchen. The family room’s library unit hides a TV and so doesn’t dominate what is a very relaxing seating, socializing and reading area. Our clients are avid readers and so special attention has been made to create reading spots throughout the house and in particular in the 5th floor library where we designed a screen-cum-library on a split level to shield the study from a designated reading area. Ali Robinson was very fortunate to be commissioned by our clients to design 3 original pieces (Haymerle, Woodview and Drakefield) that all became, in due course, part of his new collection and from which he has won a number of international furniture awards. Further to that his Twyford shelving unit was adapted for the basement and his vitrine and elliptical console refined for the reception.
