A very inviting living room. I love the symmetry and the way the ceiling extends outside, protecting a deck that is accessible from the two sliding glass doors at the back of the room.

A contemporary take on the log cabin. I like the mix of stone and vertical wood, but on the whole I think this cabin is too big. A ski chalet should look cozy, charming, and natural in its environment, all which is lost if it's too big.

Here's another exterior view of the same chalet. The cedar roof is striking — it begins as the back wall to the second level, then transitions into an indoor roof, then transitions into an outdoor overhang.

I love this modern cabin design. The wood, the vertical lines, the inset second level to allow a wrap around balcony, the overhanging roof, the glass door, and the juxtaposition between no windows on the first level and the picture windows on the second level...
