We are in the process of buying this place but there is a huge amount of wasted space mainly due to the shape of the house which creates angles on a number of the walls and also limits how the rooms can be accessed. My wife is considering pulling out but I love the place and think there is potential to do something great with it.

Are there any suggestions on how to better incorporate an open plan kitchen/dining area as well as creating some more useful storage in the bedrooms. It feels like the principal bedroom needs to move to where bedroom 2 is. We would love to try and incorporate a walk-in wardrobe somehow but extending rooms inevitably ends up meeting an angle of some sort. Is there an innovative way to work with/around the angles? Any ideas on how to avoid the wasted space in the hallways? Grateful for any suggestions please.
