Where an over sized concrete pool once dominated the space now a private retreat beckons. An expansive entertainers deck leads to an expansive lawn surrounded by curved garden beds full of lush plants and a destination polished concrete bench and combined fire pit/coffee table area to enjoy all year round. A contemporary home office overlooks the space.

A stunning English cottage country garden design, with large beds of vibrant summer flowers, including swathes of Salvia through mixed borders of perennial and herbaceous planting to create soft movement and textures. We designed different areas to the gardens, each evoking a different ambiance. The gardens include a new heated pool and a sunken spa, with stunning views over the sun-lit fields beyond.

Aménagement d’un jardin d’inspiration bord de mer à Brest, pensé pour créer un lieu de vie chaleureux, naturel et fonctionnel malgré les contraintes du climat finistérien. Le projet combine des matériaux bruts — schiste, bois, panneaux ajourés, pas japonais — à une palette végétale résistante au vent et aux embruns : cordylines, oliviers, vivaces graphiques et plantes de terrain sec. L’allée stabilisée et les terrasses en bois structurent l’espace, tandis que la pergola eucalyptus, le bain nordique et la cuisine d’été apportent confort et convivialité. L’objectif : un jardin moderne, simple d’entretien, où minéral et végétal s’équilibrent pour offrir un véritable havre de détente en Bretagne.

In 2022, we converted the swimming pool to this stunning three tier rill with an extended terrace for dining and entertaining. We used the formal planting of the yew domes and the lawn to create structure whilst softening the borders with delicate, flowing plants in a simple colour palette.
