The brick walk appears to cut through a mass of Philodendron ‘Burle Marx’, a tropical ground cover planted on both sides of the walk as if it’s carving a path through an overgrown jungle. The gas fire pit is made of reclaimed York stone. Trained English holly (Ilex aquifolium ‘J.C. Van Tol’) lines the fire pit, underplanted with foamflower. The planters came from a local blacksmith, who fabricated them from powder-coated galvanized metal.
