We painted this kitchen in a pale blue - grey, with a marble worktop and marble backsplash to keep it looking light and timeless. The bridge tap adds a touch of elegance and something 'different' and we put beautiful painted bowls on display in the lighted glass cabinets.

We tried to recycle as much as we could. The floorboards were from an old mill in yorkshire, rough sawn and then waxed white. Most of the furniture is from a range of Vintage shops around Hackney and flea markets. The island is wrapped in the old floorboards as well as the kitchen shelves.

What was originally planed to be a single dueling property, was negotiated with council to be transformed into 4 beautifully designed townhouses. All with 3 bed, 2 1/2 bathrooms, spacious living and a lock up garage. This was a compact, cost effective project that showcases modern contemporary features that blend in beautifully to the neighboring park and community.

The transition between the living furniture and kitchen is so smooth that you would not say when one ends and the other starts.. a number of well organized cabinets make this ‘L’ shaped element very useful and neat and elegant at the same time. - Photo by Daniele Petteno
