The Douglas Watson Studio Ltd

The Douglas Watson Studio were incredible, this is the second time I have used them. In my previous house I bought some of their Delft animal range and dotted them about and they always attracted a lot of attention. This time we bought a Grade 2 cottage in a beautiful village in Bucks. We decided to go one step further and we commissioned them to create 30 Delft tiles based on the village, the church, the pub, our house, our dog and us. We gave them a load of photos and we were thrilled with the results. The dog died soon after and now he is immortalised in the kitchen which was obviously his favourite room. It is the happiest room in the house as it is like a gallery reflecting our lives in 2018..

You couldn’t possible ask for more from Douglas Watson Studio. I am a very tricky customer and find decisions very hard to make, but Janet was patient beyond words and worked tirelessly with me answering my questions and repeatedly re jigging designs for me when i wasn’t quite happy. Once I had decided the designs I wanted they then painted the tiles in colours of my choice. I doubt they’ve had a more demanding customer! The end result is stunning in my opinion and I am thrilled by the design. The art work is exceptional , and the quality is second to none. They are worth every penny and will delight me for many years to come. I shall be ordering more.

We used Douglas Watson tiles in our early Victorian terraced house to give our kitchen a feel of the period. They were extremely helpful and walked me through the ordering process including customisation of one of their standard designs to add a personal twist, and the addition of a herb posy as an over sink centrepiece. The designs are beautifully executed and complement the kitchen scheme well as you can see from the pictures. Highly recommended.

I have put two orders through Douglas Watson Studios - one a significant order for a whole delft blue and white fireplace, and the other a tiny order for two Delft tiles for another small project. The tiles from Douglas Watson are of excellent quality; the advice and support during the design stage are also very good. You can guarantee a timely, relevant reply from a real person if you email. I would be more than happy to use again and recommend to others.

In my bathroom there are now beautiful herbs and flowers and, in the kitchen, a fifteen-tile bowl of flowers (with the colours that I selected). All the tiles are of the highest quality, the cost was reasonable and delivery was properly done. Please record me as a VERY satisfied customer.

I can't sing the praises of Douglas Watson Studio highly enough - I am over the moon with their work. I was looking for a surround for my fireplace. I am American of Dutch descent. The photo below is of my great-grandfather, who was a fisherman in Holland. When my grandparents died some years back, I inherited the 4 small tiles in the corners of the fireplace from them. I commissioned the studio to create a panel featuring a ship like my great-grandfather's, in the same color tones as the tiles I inherited. Though we are across the ocean and I only sent photos, the panel he created is a perfect match and stunningly beautiful. Douglas and Janet have been responsive and communicative through the entire project, and they listened with care to my ideas. They did everything I asked exactly, and made additional suggestions that further improved the end result. I recommend them without hesitation!

Spectacular hand painted Delft-style tiles. I contacted Doug and Janet in early 2016 to work up a design for a hearth installation and they were exceedingly helpful during both the design and production phase of the project. All tiles were custom painted and cut specifically to the size of the installation and were carefully shipped to the US at modest cost. The quality of the tiles is the best I have seen in 15 years of ceramic-work. These are true art-pieces at a very reasonable cost. It is almost shameful to put them in a floor installation. I will definitely be working with them again.

Absolutely great service - Doug and Janet are very personable, extremely helpful, and the products are stunning. There is no conceivable way to improve on the quality, beauty, or service of this important British designer and their hand made, historical and contemporary tiles. I've done my bathroom in the polychrome delft and multi-coloured plain tiles, with a stripped border - they made up some to my precise specifications, and delivered in a very reasonable time frame with secure packaging. Highest recommendations!

I've bought old English Delft tiles from Douglas Watson Studio on three separate occasions now for various commercial projects. Janet is always pleasant to deal with and very flexible when it comes to how I want the tiles to look and be finished. 100% recommended!
