About Us

Our practice combines the best architectural and technical skills with a high degree of professionalism and a friendly, personal approach. We believe that buildings are ultimately about the people who live and work in them. We are spatial interpreters of our clients’ dreams, analysing patterns of living and working to provide a bespoke result, however big or small the project. As no two projects are the same, we come to you with an open mind, a willingness to find a solution to your spatial needs and an extensive network of contacts to help you translate your vision into reality. We work across a broad spectrum of projects, from small-scale internal alterations for residential properties to large-scale new-build projects, as well as office refurbishments. These strands come together occasionally in mixed-use developments. We specialise in obtaining complex planning permissions. We also have design experience in other sectors, such as sports and leisure, visual arts and education. The practice is run by Principal Architect Simon Miller, RIBA AA (Dip), Associate Architect Derek Owusu-Afriyie and Director Frances Gertler, supported by a range of highly experienced architects and technicians.

This project would not have been possible without Simon, Derek and the whole team at Simon Miller Architects. They recommended the contracted and managed the project from inception to completion. We are very happy in our new home and it works perfectly for our latest addition who was 6 months old when he moved in. Now he's the emperor of this palace!

I have been working with Simon Miller Architects for a number of years as a professional advisor. This has given me a detailed insight in to the approach Simon takes to his projects and the professionalism of him and his team. The initial focus of the practice is to work with the client to ensure the design best meets their needs and can be achieved both technically and within budget. The practice has been established in North West London for a number of years and has built a reputation for being extremely experienced in obtaining the best planning approval they can for a client’s needs. They have particular experience within Hampstead Garden Suburb. When a colleague of mine needed an extension to his home I had no hesitation in recommending Simon Miller Architects and as expected a great job was done. I had an experience of using Simon Miller when he was called in to mediate a dispute over shoddy work by a previous builder. He achieved a superb result, and we were left in an even better position than if we had never had a dispute in the first place because the work was of such a superior quality. He is a person with integrity and presence. , The images of this firm's work speak for themselves, and in addition I can state that Simon is someone who listens to his clients and he is listened to by others across all professional fields with whom he deals in the course of the project.
