“After two false starts with other designers, we turned to Miri after seeing their recommendations here – and we’re so glad we did! From day one, they were proactive, responsive, and ready to get to work. Early on our experience showed us the difference between a one-man band and a design studio. Both have a place in the design world, but our project needed a full team on deck. Dorota (owner) led the designs, Julia managed operations (think deliveries, scheduling etc), and Ting produced CGI high-quality renders for every decision from wallpaper to furniture layout. They worked closely with builders, electricians, decorators and joinery so that as much as possible was planned for. Renovations can be tough – trades can be unreliable, and as clients we sometimes change the best laid plans. Sometimes we wanted to spend less, or find better quality, or needed a short turnaround. But Miri took it all in stride and prioritised us. Also worth mentioning, I wanted to do the project myself and wasn’t sure we needed to invest in a designer, but with access to trade prices, their service was more affordable than we expected and the value they added is worth its weight in gold. Beyond the logistics, Miri are brilliant and brave with colors and designs, always willing to try new ideas. We wanted a home that tells our story, balancing playfulness with luxury, and they made it happen.”

Mia totally understood our brief, came with great options I never would have thought of and made the whole experience really fun (rather than totally daunting!) “My very small, very unfashionable Edwardian terraced house needed a total redesign to provide larger, more comfortable and (much!) more stylish accommodation. Run for the Hills were in at the start of the project, managing very quickly to understand my likes and dislikes when it comes to interior design, and to distil my extremely vague notions of what I wanted into clear, costed proposals which, with really very little tweaking, formed the basis of my wonderful new living-space. They kept in close contact with me throughout, coming up with creative suggestions for everything from room layouts, décor and lighting, to flooring, curtains, blinds, furniture (new and, where I’d chosen to retain what was there before, existing) and other fixtures & fittings, not to mention designs for a new kitchen and bathroom. They worked closely with the builders, providing floor-plans, elevations detailed joinery drawings and more or less everything that was required to realise their proposals.
