What a lovely room. It just needs a few finishing touches to give it a lift. From your photos, the oak floor looks slightly orange in tone as do your storage units. Orange will only serve to accentuate this and bring little to the scheme. Blue is a contrast to orange, so you may want to consider this. Try laying some colourful clothes on your bed, one at a time to see how it works in the room. To retain a restful feeling, you need a blue that coordinates with the quilt, which looks slightly beige. This photo will give you the idea. Purple is another colour to try, but it has more visual impact. Remember, a little colour will go a long way in your room.

I assume the plan you've posted is what you currently have? how about something like this (pic below) I've used a pocket door as the main door, which would go towards the toilet area, and a sliding door in the toilet area. Basically, I've put the toilet and bidet separately on the right, basins on the left, freestanding bath beneath the window and the walk in shower beyond the toilets The basins are drawn to be 0.6m wide. The length of the unit is 1.7m, width is 0.7m. The space between the wall (wall with main door) and unit is 0.5m. You could put a mirror there. The distance between the sink unit and separate toilet area is 0.8m Toilet area is 1.8m × 1.6m. There is 0.7m between the front of the toilet and the wall The shower is 1.8m × 1.2m, with a 0.4m shower seat along the length. The entrance to the shower is 0.7m There is a distance of 0.6m between the bathtub and basins. The bathtub is 1.7m × 0.8m

Thank you both for your comments. The house was built in 2000. Probably easier to send picture of the progress in our kitchen so far. We also have an island with seating to be put in and was thinking of a grey gloss one but will probably stick to white (too worried about getting it wrong)!. Neolith will go on that too but no wrapping just sitting on top. We wanted a floor that we could take into the hall and other downstairs rooms and thought the gloss tiles would give the hall a lift ... We're keeping the wall colours in the hallway. Is there underfloor heating? I can’t make out any other source of heating which would make all that lovely seating area unusable for much of the year otherwise. I like the idea of the open covered area but it appears to be a step down from the garden - or is that my eyesight? For me, i think this area would have worked better if it had been level to the garden with a patio area extending out into the garden instead of the single slab step that appears to be there. A good sized space though which I’m sure they will enjoy.
