Comments (31)I would recommend white painted walls. Add accessories that are colorful if you wish. You can change it anytime you want. Depending on the space, I would definitely add something like raw thick tree branch. You can then make some fairy doors on it in color. Interaction with a child making these doors :) I would also choose funky prints of animals over the decals. Or have some animal heads hung on the walls. Children loves cozy spaces canopy is the thin. I would recommend Numero 74. I love their range of colors and quality. Add some cool pillows. If you are into diy, make some. Paint on it, embroider, use different techniques to apply color and texture to the room. Have more than one lighting source: fairylights, floor lamp, etc. If you want something really cool: cover ceiling in polka dots. Don't paint it. You can cut out some cardpaper circles and stick it with blutack. Use different sizes one color rather than having different colors. Take it off when tired of it easily. Enjoy decorating the room :) V...See MoreHow to give our downstairs loo more personality?

Comments (3)Hi Amy, I love the idea of mixing together both antique and industrial pieces in your bedroom scheme - it really makes a statement and I especially love your Abacus bed! Taking inspiration from your elegant linen covers and avoiding the whites/creams, I’d suggest using our colour mixing shade Steel Symphony 1 as your main wall colour. This calming deep blue shade has a grey undertone which will bring out the rich warm tones from your wooden furniture. I’d suggest using Dulux Matt emulsion as it gives walls a low sheen finish, which minimises imperfections and gives that contemporary look to your home. Another option, if you fancy getting your paint on, is re-creating your very own ombré paint effect such as the image below. Using the Steel Symphony colour card (which you can pick up from your local DIY store or Dulux Decorator Centre) select a dark, mid and light shade. Then with our handy ‘how to paint horizontal stripes’ tutorial, you can create the ultimate ‘WOW’ factor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9DaV0E_gXs Using darker shades really creates a dramatic impact in large spaces, giving your space that intimate and restful feel throughout the day. Enhance the scheme by introducing pops of colour through your accessories and soft furnishings. I love the idea of adding elements of antique brass, such as on this Tangle chandelier pendant from Made.com, which I love: http://bit.ly/2czPhrF I hope you have fun decorating and I’d love to see your new room once you’ve completed it, so please send some photos! Comments (31)Dear all, If you want to add a bathroom, you have to start there and work everything else round it. The reason for this being that you usually have to feed into the existing soil pipe. The soil pipe in this case is on the left hand outside wall. Without knowing if you can put another one on another outside wall ie the rear, which is probably unlikely, you have no option but to place a bathroom as close to the entrance on the left as possible. Obviously you could change the system in the new bathroom to a macerator style toilet, and technology has come a long way with regards those, but they are not for everyone. It may be possible to change the shape of the kitchen, remove the back entrance and push the front wall back, ( maybe not, as i presume it's instrumental in holding up the mezzanine ) If it were possible in theory:- You could - move the kitchen wall back to make more room in the lounge. Add a bathroom with pocket doors ahead of you when you come in and split the lounge down the middle. You could also have a pocket door entrance from the bedroom to the bathroom jack and jill style. That bedroom would also get the balcony....See Moremrskain1
