9'3x4'5ft skinny bathroom! What would you do?
Comments (15)Thank you everyone! chantelle- I love the design but thinking more brass/gold than silver. Definitely liking the picture rail and chandelier though! Alison- clever use of space there! Love the dark colouring. Headsters- loving the photo and definitely the sort of look I'm thinking. Where did you get the vanity from? Really nice. inga! Your such a tease! (((Sob sob))) love the photos, well all of them aside from the one that I have the space for. :( i should seriously just consider just getting a shower as I know this will look better then cramming a bath in but with a toddler and a concern for resale (especially due to prime school catchment) I am hesitant. Mirrors are a great idea and I do like the shape of the bath in last photo- traditional vibe. if you feel my pain for the bathroom situation then you will be even more saddened to know the kitchen dimensions! lets just say I had better not put on any weight as I may get lodged in cabinet to wall! any ideas on antique looking vanity units and gold brass looking taps would be appreciated. thanks so much to all x...See MoreBasement bedroom decor help urgently needed please!
Comments (6)Hi. I think any dark, rich colour could work well (would paint the skirts in the wall colour) but if you didn't want to paint the furniture either a really deep teal or inky blue would work well. Perhaps use ochre or burnt orange as accent colours or moss or emerald/grass green work really well with an inky blue. I assume the ceilings aren't tanked so you'll need a ceiling fix pole? Having floor to ceiling curtains will make it feel taller. I'd also have a tall portrait leaner mirror on the wall opposite the window to make it feel taller and to bounce light (do you know where the stud work is for attaching things to walls?) Could you have a light weight canvas hung on the chimney breast attached with those sticky pads? Agree re lighting and would also add 1/2 floor lamps. Is an electric stove in budget for the chimney? My only reservation is dark walls against a white ceiling. I think my basement is the same height and I deliberated for ages and in the end painted it all white :) there is an argument that dark ceilings can create depth as you can't see where they end.. also an argument re white gloss or Matt finish for the ceilings! If you did go for dark walls though i might consider a mid shade for the ceiling...See MoreI need 4 new hallway lights- help please!
Comments (5)We have these lights in our hall and landing. They are simple but sparkle beautifully and are very reasonably priced considering that you need four. The photos online don't do them justice - apart from the last photo which is more reflective of how these actually look in real life. https://m.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-easy-to-fit-adele-pendant-ceiling-light-natural/p231216675...See MoreI have a ~15ftx10.5ft bedroom in dire need of a tidy up and re-design.
Comments (21)After many weeks of experimenting with furniture positions I have finally reached a conclusion which I'm happy with. I am selling the Ikea black desk which was too small and impractical for the room and replaced it with my old curved desk which now fits snugly in the South East corner of my room. I have also put the chest to good use which is now under the bed and will be replaced by 'weathered scaffold board' shelves on the South West wall which previously held my guitars. The guitars will be placed on the North East wall above my chest of drawers which are stacked and positioned next to the bed. I am still yet to decide however which wall should contain all of the photos and canvas'... Perhaps above the headboard. The speakers will be positioned accordingly once some shelves fill the South East corner wall above the desk and the 3 shelves have been positioned. The LP player along with the vinyls will be on the bottom shelf which is still in the process of design. Once this is complete.. I may have time to put hooks above Bob Marley's head for the cables.... If you believe I'm going the wrong direction with this please give me a shout. Pictures will be posted upon completion....See More- 12 years ago
