I found a pic earlier of a light grey Edwardian house with charcoal windows on houzz as shown. I also found one of the french grey and agree it looks green so I am not doing my house in that either although it does look nice on windows with cream render! Little Greene have some fab colours so maybe a pale but warm grey. Do also try the Dulux heritage colours if you want a period colour

I think you have hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the curtains. They aren’t as bold as the rest of the room. Everything else is great. I wouldn’t go for stripes, but pick up the boldness of your green or wall color, in a heavier pattern. The current curtains have a delicate pattern, which is not in keeping with the room. It might be a tall order to find the jewel green and wall color in one material, so it might be an either/or situation. Key will be a stronger, bolder pattern.

It's a great trick to just paint the handrail and the newel posts in a darker colour. Pavilion grey can be very gloomy, I have tried it and repainted. Cornforth I also dismissed as it is quite lavender. It was on the South side though. Try Shaded white or Wevet. Your stairs are a lot darker with the carpet then the inspo pics so I would be careful of cutting too much light. Having to repaint woodwork is painful if the colour is too dark. You could always stick to bright white for the woodwork and balance it with a soft grey like Ammonite or Great White. These are F&B, Little Greene has quite a few options as well. French Gray is a great option as you mention.
