Actually Amanda, I've cooked with gas for years but now I have induction I'd never go back. The heat is instant and adjustable in just the same way as gas however the heat distribution is superior as it's more even. The other advantages are that the hob doesn't get anywhere near as hot so it's far safer, especially with young children, also cleaning is much easier as there are no bits and bobs to remove and, as the hob doesn't get hot, no burnt on residue if there are any spillages. Before I bought the hob I was concerned about heat distribution in a wok as I stir fry a lot, but I can honestly say it's been great with that too. I don't have a minimal kitchen, just a sleek counter, and personally I find the bulky Wolf hobs unattractive, but each to their own. In summary, in my opinion, gas is good but induction is better. That said, I'm not keen on this kitchen at all, sorry St James. Normally you give great advice and suggestions but here the sockets look wrong and I'm not keen on how they look on the tiling. What matters though is the clients opinion, so if they love it that's brilliant.

Thank you guys you ve provided reassurance and consideration for me to keep the windows as they are... maybe I’m being over critical however if they look fine to others then I’m most definitely swayed to keep them. Do you think I just keep fan light sections with the criss cross design or just change those panes for a cleaner look? They are upvc Also, yes I think shutters will go the fan light line in the window to keep it look as sinple as possible. I recognise that half length window shutters would look odd The reason for shutters is that the first floor front bedrooms look out onto a main road with lots of traffic so I felt that would offer privacy. Additionally I have a very severe dust allergy so whereas curtains may look fab, opening and closing them each night and morning sets my allergy off so I find blinds and shutters have always worked best for me? Unless anyway has similar experience or could suggest alternative as I’m open to other options :)

I don't really understand the "walk through cupboard into larder space". The plan just shows storage either side, would you not be better just having a wide larder unit? Agree with Jonathan re range and integrating fridge. Only on the assumption you won't be using both dishwashers at the same time, I might swap the one in the corner with the bin (so you're not dripping mess on the floor and DW's in corners are trickier as you can only stand to one side to stack etc) and move the other DW to the island but also swap the side of the drawers. It would be a major trip hazard though if you do use at the same time :) Given you have 2 DW's do you need an extra fridge in the utility? something like Little Greene French grey/pale may work for units, which is a Victorian paint colour. You could have oak on the island although it's obviously not as practical as Quartz etc. i think a butlers sink would also be more in keeping?

The laundry lobby and the bedroom lobby are not very efficient uses of space, unless you want the extra separation of the bedrooms from the living space. Personally I would combine the laundry with the second bathroom. Then you should be able to make the sitting area of your new open plan room bigger as you can add on most of the space currently given to the second bathroom and bedroom lobby. If the sitting area becomes bigger, then perhaps you do not need a separate sitting room and can make it a third bedroom (or at least, this could be presented as an option if you come to sell).
