Thanks for all the advice & support! Maybe I'm not being so silly after all - I do think the crystal ones look great & would suit the kitchen style. Think I'll order a few to compare. OnePlan - thanks for the suggestion - good to think outside the box but not so sure the leather handles will give the look I'm after.

I was leaving the marital home for a basement flat and I was feeling a little vulnerable and hard done by. Just me and my little cat so we needed a lovely new bed, just for us. I bought a large wooded sleigh bed from a local family store. They were lovely and came round that afternoon with the bed in pieces. They put it all together and gave me a free new duvet set. My new start.

If you have a local builders merchant with a kitchen showroom, try them. They often offer free design service, so will come out and measure etc. We have done this on two occasions over the years. We had new kitchen last year, (very small kitchen) did start out with Howdens as they have a showroom close to where we live but had to go “via a local builder” who was always going to undertake the work on our behalf (a friend) but decided not to take this route. We also found with Howdens (and the local builders merchant) there was room to “negotiate”. Also, remember, the builder will receive a “discount” from Howdens, which won’t necessarily be passed on to you.
