I have used Altria whiterock normally used for commercial kitchen walls... What did you use in the end?

Dear Joanna. There are a couple of ways of looking at this. It is always good to have a mix of rooms with baths and showers and just showers as you will always have guests that will request a bath so this needs to be considered. So you should make sure you are covered here. If you are planning on using this as the bridal suite I would suggest that you cover all bases and go for the bath, undoubtedly you may get a fussy bride who insists that there is a bath in the suite. A freestanding bath will also look great in your brochure pics. If you could manage something like the image below it would cover all bases!! We have done this in a couple of projects where space is an issue.

Agree with Tamp about the sloping roof/round window being more aesthetically pleasing than the mock up. Also re: the render. I think it's a lovely looking house and it will make it very generic. I'd so keep the windows white as well to retain its period charm. By saving money here (I'd imagine realigning the roof would cos a fortune) I would knock down the sunroom and take down the dividing walls to the rooms across the back of the house, then having a lovely open plan kitchen, dining, lounging area open to the garden with bifolds or similar. I think I'd even knock the wall down from the hall so as you enter so you can see right through to the back of the house. You'd still have a separate lounge at the front and space, I'm sure, for a separate utility. Rather than a porch (or maybe as well as?) I'd consider converting the garage for a playroom/office or similar because it looks rather small for a modern car. Sorry I'm no good at mocking up plans and don't know whether all that structural internal work is a lottery winning budget but I'd def spend my money downstairs initially as its where you spend most of your waking hours. Well, I think you need to design the garden with islands of plants and the gravel as a river flowing through is. This is why they have the larger stones, as stepping stones to cross the ‘river’. You could also use Azaleas, very Japanese and they can ope with sunny spots. They need acidic soil. Did you already have Pinus sylvestris? Think that‘ll go very well. But the most important thing is the island structure with the gravel river, I think. So I suggest you’ll lay a rope through your gravel to see where you would like your river to flow and then create a couple of planted islands, some large, some smaller, and go from there. There are creeping plants for sunny spots that can mimic the moss for example. And do see if you can incorporate a water feature. A tub dug into the ground to hold the water with a pump and a rock or bowl on top to pump the water through. Simple, but effective. You only need electricity. Or a sun powered pump.
